Crowne Plaza Semarang: It’s Not a Five Star Experience Desember 1, 2012Posted by Dadi Krismatono in Perjalanan.

We arrived at the spacious and glossy lobby on November 11. We have the non-smoking floor which is excellent since we traveled with baby, but got no confirmation whether we got the baby crib or not. After some confusion, the receptionist said that we got the baby crib.
When we arrived, we found no baby crib. We have to call again and again for the baby crib. Seems it is the hotel policy that every guests’ request needs three-time repetition before getting any response.
The room is clean and spacious. The bathroom is clean. We’re happy about that.
The food was far below our expectation. We ordered noodle soup from room service and tried the buffet breakfast. All was lame.
The three-time repetition policy was applied again when we asked for the bill at check out, asking for trolley to pick up our luggage, and–even better–when we ask for taxi to take us to airport.
I don’t understand why a glossy business-looks hotel like this doesn’t have a private paid transport to airport. Guests only had choice of taxi from the adjacent mall or hotel’s free shuttle on their own schedule.
So, in general, it was not a five star experience, not a value for money, and we have no reason to come back.
